![]() ![]() I compared what I received on the app to what was on the sd card and I was amazed. ![]() I was very disappointed in what I thought was a pretty good camera.įirst, I want you to know I did my homework and spent 4 hours last night comparing the pics from 3 very busy cameras. What I mean by that is, if the camera is set to take a pic every 5 min, on the app I should receive a photo and another pic after it has sent one 5 min later if there is something that triggers the camera. Took the sd cards out of the Reveal X cams and wanted to see just how many photos were on the sd card versus what I received in the app, considering the the settings I had configured. Pulled all my trail cams and started my usual clean up and put away. For those who might have thought they found the golden trail camera. So I wanted to share my findings from a long sit down comparison. I've seen it mentioned in a thread and when I read it I kinda cringed hoping it was not totally true. Every once in a while they will have a sale but if truth be told, best place to buy is from Walmart online and buy the extended warranty. They also sell them and give you an extra year warranty on the Chinees cams. At the top of their page you'll see "Trail Camera Reviews" and they post the results from their tests and rank the cameras too, cell and regular. If it aint on here, they consider it trash. ![]() These guys test all trail cameras that are worth a piss. There's a reason they only come with a 1 year warranty and the Reconynx come with a 5 year. If I left them out all year, they were almost guaranteed to die on me the next year during the season and that got expensive and depressing. I learned a while back with my Chinese cameras that they lasted longer if I used them during that time period. I put them out around Sept and take them out couple weeks after hunting season is over, clean them up, take batteries out and put in a box that I leave in closet in the house, no storage where humidity can get them (not that that may matter cause they are outside rated). But just FYI, I don't leave mine out all year long. If I remember correctly they told me avg cost to repair one after warranty is about $30 bucks. What sold me was I called and talked to Reconyx about it and basically if I have a problem, they will fix it even after the warranty. LetOff what kind of durability are you getting out of your Reconyx Hyperfire?Īww man they are fantastic and work as you would want it too, hardly ever get a blank pic. 125 registered members ( jtillery, Frankie, Chiller, FNG68, TravisBatey, jprice, dtmwtp, TheVern, JRF, RSF, cartervj, gcr0003, DoeNut, chevydude2015, ALMODUX, bamaeyedoc, eclipse829, metalmuncher, donia, bward85, twaldrop4, gwstang, hamma, abolt300, AUtgr, alhawk, Showout, desertdog, Mbrock, slanddeerhunter, BOFF, TurkeyJoe, Gulfcoast, coldtrail, Cutem, curt99rsv, Whild_Bill, MountainTopHunter, Paint Rock 00, Buckwheat, Tigger85, bhammedic84, PaytonWP, Squadron77, Bamajoz, MC21, hallb, deadeye48, johnv, centralala, brushwhacker, trlrdrdave, odocoileus, Chaser357, AU7MM08, S_Dubs, GomerPyle, Spottedbass, Wildboar14, sawdust, Catbird, 25-20, ParrotHead89, Gobble4me757, Ron A., fur_n_feathers, CatfishJunkie, jake44, 000buck, gman, Tailwalk7, globe, rhino21, mdavis, JBray1985, canichols424, BentBarrel, level5, ronfromramer, Thread Killer, Hornhntr, turfarmer, 3Gs, mjs14, sw1002, zwick, rutwad, Canterberry, Pwyse, jake5050, BCLC, Sasquatch Lives, RODK, bamaguzzi, billrv, Scout308, Buckhammer, ridgestalker, Chorn, icducks, fourfive45, 11b4v, !shiloh!, Crawfish, Exhoosier, 300gr, DGAMBLER, quailman, zgobbler5, Eutaw, LongBeards29, Whitetaillane, bug54, 12 invisible), ![]()
